Walkersville 27 - Catoctin 0
The Lions bounced back from a tough overtime loss in Week 5 against Linganore, shutting out Catoctin 27-0.
Walkersville defense was superb tonight, limiting Catoctin to 48 yards of total offense. The Lions were led by a trio of sophomores, Tyler Gleason, Christian Policelli and Aaron Jahnke. Gleason made plays all over the field, finishing with a team leading seven tackles. Policelli wasn't far behind with six tackles, including two for a loss, while Jahnke had an interception
On offense, Chad Gleason carried the load at running back. He ran the ball 27 times for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Littleton also had a big game, rushing for 110 yards on 23 carries. Quarterback Billy Gant also got in on the action, chipping in a 13 yard score.
Walkersville is now 5-1. They have a big showdown with Frederick County foe Oakdale in Week 7.
Governor Thomas Johnson 27 - Digital Harbor 0
Thomas Johnson are now 3-3 this season after a 27-0 win over Baltimore City's Digital Harbor.
That Patriots were led by running back Nick Bishop, who carried the ball 25 times for 180 yards and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Eric Cox threw for 110 yards, with the highlight coming on a 38 yard touchdown pass to Adonis Phillips.
The defense kept Digital Harbor in check the whole game. Dexter Prue and Deshawn Green each contributed with interceptions.
Thomas Johnson also got a strong performance from their special teams. Kicker Edward Plaster was two for three on field goals, and also had three extra points.
Thomas Johnson will try to go above .500 for the first time since Week 3 next week when they square off with Westminster from Carroll County.
Friendship Academy of Engineering and Technology (FAET) 40 - New Era 0
FAET's defense recorded their fifth shutout of the season, beating New Era 40-0. The Grizzlies have not allowed a point since Week 2.
The standouts for the defense were Marquese Jacks and Tavon Joseph. Jacks hauled in an interception while Joseph had three tackles for losses, including two sacks. The defense also recorded a safety.
On offense, the Grizzlies ran for over 400 yards behind the strong offense line comprised of Dermonta Makell, Qaidetreus Walker, Tavon Joseph, Ben Lewis and Ayo Obayanju. Robert Murphy was the leading rusher with 187 yards and three touchdowns on 12 attempts. Ben Witherspoon ran for 63 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Debrin Winchester scored on a 38 yard reverse, and quarterback Quantez Snow threw for two 2 point conversions and ran one in.
FAET travels to Ben Franklin in Week 7.
Eastern Tech 41 - Pikesville 0
Eastern Tech continued to roll through Baltimore County play, beating Pikesville 41-0. The Mavericks are now 6-0, and have recorded shutouts in back to back weeks.
Eastern Tech jumped out to an early lead, with touchdowns from Brandon Hlavach and Ike Marrow in the first quarter. Hlavach scored on a six yard rush while Marrow scored on a 36 yard pass from Brandon Thomas.
The Mavericks put the game away in the second quarter, scoring three touchdowns. Hlavach scored again, this time on a 49 yard run. On either side of his touchdown were scores by Ian McBorrough. McBorrough first scored on a 61 yard run, then scored on a 30 yard pass from Thomas.
Eastern Tech only scored one more time in the game. It was Hlavach again, but this time he did it in the passing game, catching a 10 yard pass from Thomas in the fourth quarter.
Eastern Tech puts their undefeated mark on the line in Week 7 against Sparrows Point.
