Experienced Catonsville Football Looking to Qualify for MPSSAA Playoffs

Catonsville's football team is hoping to improve upon its 6-4 record in 2014 and qualify for the MPSSAA playoffs. The Comets will be an experienced bunch this season, which should help. They are returning seven starters on offense this year, and six on defense.

"Our skill position players should be our strength," said head coach Rich Hambor. "We have our top QB, Danny Terzi, and wide receiver, Jamal Johnson, returning from last season, as well as all but one of our secondary players."

Along with Terzi and Johnson, Hambor is expecting seniors Jacob Faircloth, Daymon Jones, Brian Taylor and Zaire Crosby to be impact players for the Comets in 2015.

Catonsville has a tough start to their season, opening at home against Patapsco, who finished 9-1 in 2014. The Comets will also play Franklin, Milford Mill and Perry Hall as the season goes on, meaning Catonsville will have one of the tougher schedules you'll see this season.

"We hope to contend for the Baltimore County 3A/4A title and a 4A North playoff berth," said Hambor. "We will be an exciting, fast and hard-hitting team. Our league and region are as tough as any in the state. It will be a challenge."
