UCBAC Baseball Postseason All-Star Game/All-Division Teams

Senior All-Star Game

BothNorth South

The Upper Chesapeake Athletic Baseball Conference hosted its 3rd annual Senior All-Star Baseball Game this past Friday. The game was played at Harford Community College, and ended in 2-2 tie after seven innings of highly competitive baseball.

The South team received a boost in the first inning from catcher Andrew Cotton (Bel Air), who threw out two runners who were trying to steal second base. That didn't prevent the North squad from scoring the first run of the game though, which happened in the bottom of the third inning when Solomon Harris (Elkton) hit a sacrifice fly to score Tyler Yost (Joppatowne).

The North responded right away though, plating an equalizer in the top of the fourth Luke Beyers (Bel Air) knocked in Matt Ferretti (Bel Air) on a groundout to second base.

Cotton continued his strong performance with a two out double in the fifth inning which plated Jordan Holsopple (Edgewood), to give the North its first lead of the game at 2-1.

The South responded in the bottom half of the fifth though. Kyle Goudy (Patterson Mill) got the rally started with a double. He was eventually moved to third base, and came in on a sacrifice fly from Jacob Michael (Patterson Mill) to tie the game.

After a sixth inning in which Blake Melchoir (Harford Tech) struck out the side, the South squad threatened to take the lead in the top of the seventh by getting a runner on. The threat was stopped by catcher Derek Schoff (Rising Sun), who threw out the runner from behind the plate to second base.
