MPSSAA Golf Semifinals: Marriotts Ridge, Middletown and Fallston All Qualify for Finals

Marriotts Ridge shot the best team score on Day 2 of the MPSSAA semifinals, easily qualifying for next Monday's state final with a team score of 294. Middletown and Fallston rounded out the top three.

The Mustangs' Bennett Buch and Courtney Jackson had the two top scores for all competitors. Buch shot a 67 to finish first, while Jackson wasn't too far behind with a 71. Marriotts Ridge's two other golfers had good rounds. Nick Mejia placed in the top five for individual competitors with a 73, while John Szymanski shot an 83.

Middletown had the second best team score of the round, finishing with a score of 324. Jake Darr was the Knights' top golfer, scoring a 77. Joey Weiland finished one behind Darr with a 78, while Andrew Heon shot an 83. Nick DeSimone's 86 was Middletown's final score.

Fallston shot 339 as a team which was good enough for third place. Zach Billings had the best individual score, shooting an 80. Dylan Wolf finished second with an 85. Dayton Ogrysko shot an 86 and Everett Cox scored an 88.

The state finals were originally scheduled for tomorrow, but with the expected forecast calling for large amounts of rain, the event has been moved to Monday.
