Change of Guard for Broadneck Lacrosse for First Time in 33 Years

Earlier this month, longtime Broadneck High School boys lacrosse coach Clay White retired from his position. He had spent 33 years at the helm of the program and 38 total as a high school lacrosse head coach.

Under White, the Bruins won four state titles (all during the 1990s) and, according to the Capital Gazette, only suffered one losing season.

"Lacrosse has been my whole life so I don't really know what's in store for the future," White told the Gazette. "Can I step back from coaching? I can tell you it's going to be really strange."

Stepping into White's longtime role will be Jeff McGuire, who had been coaching at nearby North County High School. McGuire brings a winning pedigree of his own, having won two state titles in high school at Severna Park and two national titles in college at Salisbury University.
