Lansdowne Football Promises Excitement and Drive in 2015

Lansdowne football is on the rise. After winning two games in 2013, the team pulled off a three win season in 2014. For 2015, the Vikings have two goals: record five victories, and make the MPSSAA playoffs. What makes achieving these goals more difficult than in past years is that Lansdowne will be playing in a higher classification than they did previously, jumping up from 2A to 3A.

"Our ability to run the football, our drive, and our focus will be our strengths," head coach Shaun Murphy said. "People can expect to see that we have grown as a team."

The Vikings expect to rely on a quartet of talented seniors to lead them. The group consists of quarterback Antoine Jones, running back DeShaun Banks, wide receiver Kenard Robinson and safety Deandre Daniels.

It should be an exciting final season for Lansdowne's seniors. Along with competing at a new classification level, the Vikings have two big home games planned for two big nights. The Vikings host Patapsco on their senior night and Catonsville for their homecoming game, two teams who had successful 2014 seasons.

Murphy is excited for what the 2015 season has the potential to be for Lansdowne football.

"This is our first year competing at the 3A level in Baltimore County and we are ready for the challenge," said Murphy. "People can expect excitement, drive, and great football at each and every game this year."
