Tony Griner Named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Maryland Coach of the Year

Tony Griner of Century High School in Carroll County has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Maryland Coach of the Year.

Griner, who coaches both for the indoor season in the winter and the outdoor season in the spring, led the 2A School's boys and girls teams to big years.

During the indoor season, the boys team finished second at both regionals and states, while the girls team finished fourth at regionals and third at states. For the outdoor season, Century's boys team won their second state championship, as well as county and regional titles, while the girls placed eighth at states.
